Manchester United are now stepping up preparations for the new season as they prepare to stop in Scotland ahead of their trip to the USA. Erik ten Hag has already snapped up Mason Mount from Chelsea, while Andre Onana could be next in at Old Trafford, with United needing a replacement for David De Gea.

The incomings won’t end there, with the Red Devils also needing a striker, while they will also likely need to offload players in order to reduce the size of their squad. With all that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Ramos chase

United are said to be set to reopen talks with Sporting Lisbon Benfica over the signing of Goncalo Ramos. The Red Devils are searching for a striker this summer, and Rasmus Hojlund has been heavily linked. But according to Rudy Galeti, Ramos could well be a target.

“Manchester United are looking for a new striker, at the moment there are two names on the shortlist, and one is Goncalo Ramos,” Galeti told GiveMeSport. “After a few weeks of silence, the English club is ready to reopen talks with Benfica again.

“At the moment the position of the Portuguese team is quite adamant: the player has a release clause of €120 million (£102 million) and this value represents his price. However, Manchester United will try to figure out the room for negotiation to lower the price, even if at the moment there is not much confidence.”

Goretzka price

United are reportedly interested in landing Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka this summer, and they now know how much they will have to pay. Sky Germany are now reporting that Bayern could be willing to offload Goretzka ahead of the new season, but they will demand a fee of between £34.3million and £42.9million.

United could do with more depth in midfield, but that may be seen as too steep of a price unless there are significant exits, with the striker position becoming the priority after Onana’s proposed arrival.
