Manchester United will take on Newport County or Eastleigh should they beat Wigan Athletic while Manchester City travel to Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United will travel to Newport County or Eastleigh in the FA Cup fourth round providing they beat Wigan Athletic tonight.

Erik ten Hag’s side travel just 40 minutes down the M61 to take on a Latics side sitting 18th in League One. The two met in the fourth round of the competition seven years ago when United recorded a routine 4-0 victory.

Since then, Wigan have claimed the FA Cup scalp of Manchester City in 2018 and are aiming to thwart another big name at the DW stadium this evening. A clash against lower-league opposition awaits the winner, with the draw being made before tonight’s 8.15pm kick-off.

As for City, Pep Guardiola's men face a tricky test at Tottenham Hotspur after overcoming Huddersfield Town with ease. The Etihad Stadium witnessed one of the season's most entertaining games when the two sides drew 3-3 last month.

Ange Postecoglou will prepare his new-look Spurs outfit for the visit of City in what is being billed as the tie of the round. Guardiola's side should be tested more than they were by Championship strugglers Huddersfield on Sunday. City have yet to win at Tottenham's new stadium or even score a goal.

The reigning champions recorded a routine 5-0 victory over the Terriers to coast into the fourth round. Kevin De Bruyne's long-awaited return proved the biggest talking point of the day as the Terriers failed to land a glove on City.

The fourth round is set to take place on the weekend of January 27 and 28. City are aiming to win the FA Cup for the third time since Pep Guardiola took charge in 2016, having defeated United at Wembley in last year's final on their way to the treble.
