Man Utd and Man City have one last chance to secure transfer windfalls & boost January spending
Manchester United and Manchester City still have the opportunity to sell players
Manchester United and Manchester City can still sell players with the Saudi Pro League transfer window open until the end of Monday, 2nd September. It is closing five days earlier than it did last year meaning clubs are now rushing to get deals over the line.

Teams in the Premier League can still sell players to teams in Saudi Arabia between now and their deadline. The clock is ticking though to sort transfers out though.
United have a few players on the fringes of their squad like Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof who could benefit from a potential exit. In addition, Casemiro has had a tricky start to the new season and his long-term future at Old Trafford is up in the air.
As for City, there are question marks over the long-term situation of Kevin de Bruyne. His deal at the Etihad Stadium expires in June 2025 and he is due to become available as a free agent in less than 12 months time as things stand.
Pep Guardiola’s side have made a perfect start to the campaign as they hunt down another title. They won 3-1 away at West Ham over the weekend with Erling Haaland scoring a hat-trick at the London Stadium. As for United, they were thumped 3-0 on their own patch by rivals Liverpool. Erik ten Hag’s men have lost two out of their first three fixtures.
Selling to Saudi Arabia before their window shuts would help free up space and funds in the Red Devils’ ranks. However, it remains to be seen at this stage whether there is any late interest in any of their players.
Pressure is starting to build on Ten Hag already but their former player Gary Neville believes the Dutchman will get until Christmas at least. He said on Sky Sports: "It's going to be a challenging week or so for Ten Hag, just to get around the fact that there will be some pressure building.
"But I think he will get until Christmas. There's no doubt about that. There's no doubt that INEOS and Dan Ashworth the chief executive - who has got a sense of calm about him - the [former Manchester] City chief executive [Omar Berrada] and Sir Dave Brailsford and those people, are not just going to do something stupid.
"Within three or four months, they have made the decision to keep him. They will get four or five months. What they can't be is mid-table come Christmas, but he is going to get a few months, there's no doubt about that."
United are back in action after the international break with an away trip to newly-promoted Southampton. They lost their last match on their travels against Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.
City host Brentford at home as they look to keep their momentum going. They are looking hard to stop at the moment, with Liverpool also looking pretty strong right now under new manager Arne Slot.
