As another week begins, Manchester United are settling into the familiar hustle and bustle of the summer transfer window.
The coming months could prove to be pivotal for the Red Devils, who will be hoping to equip new manager Erik ten Hag with the tools he needs to get the club moving in the right direction again after a disappointing 2021/22 campaign.
But where United are concerned, it can be difficult to keep up with the deluge of new rumours doing the rounds on a daily basis.
With that in mind, here are a selection of the latest pieces of speculation doing the rounds at Old Trafford.
Dumfries on United radar
United are interested in signing Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman enjoyed a hugely successful debut campaign in Serie A, but could be moved on as the Italian giants look to make wholesale changes in an attempt to balance their books.
In recent days, Dumfries - who is said to be valued at around £26 million - has been considered as a potential option by Bayern Munich, but it is understood that the German side would be reluctant to meet Inter’s asking price.
By comparison, United could have relatively few qualms about spending that amount on the 26-year-old.
The Mail suggest that Dumfries would prefer to stay at Inter or move to Old Trafford, with the presence of Ten Hag seen as a potentially decisive factor.
United lead race for Ebiowei
Manchester United and Crystal Palace are leading the race to sign Derby County’s promising young attacker Malcolm Ebiowei, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The striker, born in 2003, is expected to be in demand this summer after impressing during a difficult season for the Rams.
French outfit AS Monaco are also understood to have enquired about his availability, but the expectation at this stage is that he will stay in England.
Ebiowei currently plays under former United poster boy Wayne Rooney at Pride Park, and has garnered glowing praise from the 36-year-old.
Speaking in March, as quoted by The Athletic, the ex-England striker said: “He has got an enormous amount of ability.
“He’s brave; he’s not afraid to take players on, get tackled, and make mistakes.
“His attitude is incredible, and he’s an exciting young player.”
Juve close in on Pogba reunion
Juventus are increasingly confident of reaching agreement with free agent Paul Pogba following his recent departure from Old Trafford.
The World Cup winner left the Turin side to rejoin United six years ago, and is on the lookout for a new club after failing to agree an extension to his most recent contract with the Red Devils.
The Daily Mail report that the prospect of a four-year deal, worth around £68 million to the 29-year-old, is on the table, with an growing expectation that an agreement will be reached in the coming days.
