Contact made: Man United approach 29-year-old goal machine as fresh €25m link emerges in striker search

Man United have been linked to several strikers ahead of the summer transfer window as it is a position that Ruben Amorim is expected to address after a poor season from both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
They have been linked to Liam Delap from Ipswich, who will have a £30m release clause should the Tractor Boys get relegated. Victor Osimhen has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford as he is expected to leave Napoli in the summer.

Man United linked with move for Patrik Schick
The Red Devils have reportedly identified a cheaper alternative to the likes of Osimhen and Gyokeres this summer as they look to add more goal-scoring ability to their front line.
According to Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger, Man United are open to signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick, and that they have made ‘initial contact’ for the Czechian striker. Schick has made 40 appearances this season for Leverkusen, scoring 23 goals and he is expected to be a much cheaper option compared to United’s other targets due to him being a few years older. He is one of ‘many names’ on their list of targets.
The 29-year-old would reportedly command a transfer fee of just £26 million, making him somewhat of a bargain due to his impressive scoring record in Germany this season. There has been interest from the Saudi Pro League in Schick, however, he reportedly would prefer a move to the Premier League with his contract at Leverkusen expiring in 2027.

Hide AdSchick has been at Bayer Leverkusen for five years after he joined from Italian side Roma in 2020 for a fee of £22.7m. He has since scored 77 goals in 163 games for the club, making him the sixth-highest-scoring Leverkusen player of all time.
Schick rules out Saudi Pro League move
As previously mentioned, there has been reported interest in the Czech international from the Saudi Pro League, however, the striker quickly shut down any chance of moving to the Middle East this summer.
Reported in the Sun last week, Schick said: “I still have the ambition to play at the top level, and therefore a move to Saudi Arabia is not an option for me.”
Seeing as he wants to play in the top leagues, a move to the Premier League could be on the cards for the 29-year-old, and it should be a deal that Man United would be able to afford, especially if the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony are all sold.
