"He's signing for Man Utd" - Fabrizio Romano gives insight on club's high hopes as agreement struck for "top talent"

Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign yet another future star

Manchester United have high hopes over Enzo Kana-Biyik after the Red Devils reached an agreement to sign the highly-rated and in-demand striker, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It has been reported this week that United are set to sign the 18-year-old from French side Le Havre on a free transfer once his contract runs out. His expiring deal had alerted a number of clubs across Europe but United have won the race for his signature. It was reported earlier this week that the deal was completed while in an update on his YouTube channel, Romano has added further weight to those claims and explained an agreement is in place for the player to move to Old Trafford.

He has yet to officially sign for the Red Devils but barring any late hiccups, Biyik is set to become a United player with Romano confidently declaring “he's signing for Manchester United.”

Fabrizio Romano lifts lid on Manchester United’s agreement for Enzo Kana-Biyik

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano gave an update on United’s move for Biyik, reporting that a deal was all-but done and that the Red Devils believe he is a “top talent”. Romano said: “He's signing for Manchester United, he's signing for the future and it's Enzo Kana-Biyik. He's a striker, playing for Le Havre, 18 years old, out of contract, free agent, with many clubs interested in the player, many clubs in England, in France, in Germany, many clubs wanted to sign him, but Man United have reached an agreement.

“So, there is an agreement between Man United and Enzo, the player is ready to sign the contract. Man United believe this is a really, really good talent. There were many clubs interested, but Man United, after Chido Obi Martin, after Sekou Kone, after Ayden Heaven, they want to invest on top talents, for the academy and for the future.

“Enzo Kana-Biyik is one of them. There is a verbal agreement with the player. Waiting for the formal steps, but for sure, Enzo Kana-Biyik is a here we go, and he is one more talent to add to the youngsters and top talents for the project, at Manchester United.”

Manchester United’s changing transfer stargety under Sir Jim Ratcliffe

When he completed his minority takeover in early 2024, Sir Jim Ratcliffe outlined his ambition to sign younger talents rather than spending tens of millions on already established stars. The Red Devils have been one of the biggest spenders in the Premier League over the last decade but they have not won the domestic title for 12 years and Ratcliffe is keen for the club to be smarter in the market as they aim to compete at the top of English football again.

United also have to consider profit and sustainability regulations as they look to sign some of the best young talents in world football. As mentioned above, the club have moved to sign the likes of Chido Obi Martin and Ayden Heaven with both players making senior appearances this season. With United likely to reach the Europa League final, a number of their younger talents could get the chance to impress Ruben Amorim in the final weeks of the Premier League season.

It was also reported last month that highly-rated Paris Saint-Germain trio Axel Tape, Mahamadou Sangare and Oumar Camara were of interest to United
