Man United player ratings: Powerhouse earns 9/10 after comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton

The Red Devils picked up three points at St Mary’s after a 3-0 win.

Manchester United returned to Premier League action with a dominant win over Southampton. A 3-0 win for Erik ten Hag’s side showcased their comfortable visit to St Mary’s, which will be an afternoon to forget for the Saints.

After André Onana denied Cameron Archer a penalty, Matthijs de Ligt found the back of the net at the other end to redeem his recent disappointing performance for the Netherlands and mark his debut goal for the Reds. Marcus Rashford then netted his first goal since March to send United into the break 2-0 up.

The second half saw a red card for Jack Stephens after a reckless challenge on Alejandro Garnacho, who made a huge impact from off the bench with a stoppage time goal.

United’s three points puts them on six for the season so far, bouncing right back from their previous 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford. We’ve gathered up the player ratings issued by WhoScored? as Ten Hag and his men celebrate their return to form. Take a look below at how each United player fared.
