Man United and Man City’s new predicted Premier League finishes after fresh derby day twists

There are huge battles ahead for both teams after Sunday’s showdown.

Following on from Sunday’s derby clash between Manchester City and Manchester United, Pep Guardiola’s men will undoubtedly be the happier of the two teams, for fairly obvious reasons.

The Blues strolled to a 4-1 victory in the end, aided in large part by a lacklustre display from Ralf Rangnick’s side.

Given United’s recent successes at the Etihad, many onlookers had earmarked the match as a potential banana skin in City’s title defence, but rarely did it feel like one, and the champions managed to maintain their six point cushion at the top of the table - albeit with the caveat of Liverpool’s upcoming game in hand to consider.

For the Reds, it was another underwhelming afternoon that throws their Champions League credentials into further doubt.

But how will both sides fare over the remainder of the campaign?

We’ve taken a look at stats gurus FiveThirtyEight’s latest predicted Premier League table to find out.
