Mainoo starts, Zirkzee dropped - Manchester United predicted line up vs Liverpool FC

Man Utd travel to face Liverpool FC in the Premier League fixture at Anfield this weekend.

Manchester United are expected to make at least two changes to their starting line up when they face Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.

Ruben Amorim knows the odds are stacked against his side for the trip to Anfield and it will take a remarkable performance if they are to beat the league leaders on their own turf.

Andre Onana will keep his place in goal for the encounter, while there could be one change in central defence with Leny Yoro a contender to start in place of either Matthijs de Ligt or Harry Maguire. Diogo Dalot seems certain to keep his role at left wing-back with either Amad Diallo or Noussair Mazraoui likely to occupy the other wide role.

There is certain to be two changes in midfield, with Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte both set to come back into the starting line up after they were each suspended for the recent defeat to Newcastle. Amorim will have to decide whether he plays club captain Fernandes in a central midfield role or an attacking one, which will dictate the final player in his line up.

Kobbie Mainoo could be given a starting role if Fernandes is deployed further up the field, while Alejandro Garnacho could be handed his first start in seven matches if the captain plays alongside Ugarte instead. Rasmus Hojlund is the most likely choice to lead the attack after Joshua Zirkzee's humiliating withdrawal earlier in the week.

United predicted XI vs Newcastle: Onana; Yoro, Maguire, Martinez; Mazroaui, Mainoo, Ugarte, Dalot; Amad, Fernandes, Hojlund.
