Man Utd welcome Liverpool to Old Trafford next month.

Liverpool could be majorly boosted on their return to Old Trafford next month with reports suggesting they hope to have Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota available.

Manchester United host Liverpool for the second time in less than a month on April 7, with the upcoming fixture in the league following the dramatic 4-3 FA Cup win for Erik ten Hag's side before the March international break. Neither Alexander-Arnold or Jota featured and the pair have been absent for some time.

Alexander-Arnold has been out for almost seven weeks after suffering a recurrence of a persistent knee injury against Burnley last month. The right-back was unable to join up with the England squad for recent friendlies and has been a huge miss.

Jota's knee injury came the following game against Brentford and the forward was stretchered off, raising concerns as to whether he would feature again this season. Both have been working to play some part in the run-in and The Times reports that they are now aiming to return against United.

It would provide a massive boost for Jurgen Klopp's side as they look to avenge their FA Cup elimination at the hands of United, and both sides will still have so much to play for. Liverpool are battling Manchester City and Arsenal for the Premier League title and will see a trip to Old Trafford as a major potential speed bump.

United will need to finish the season strongly if they are to qualify for next season's Champions League, needing to overtake at least one of Tottenham or Aston Villa during the final 10 games, who are six and nine points ahead respectively.

The visit of Liverpool comes in the middle of a massive month in April, with Ten Hag's men also facing Newcastle United and Chelsea before their FA Cup semi-final clash against Coventry City.
