Jurgen Klopp issues Liverpool injury update on five players ahead of Man Utd in Red Devils boost

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking ahead of Sunday's FA Cup clash between Manchester United and Liverpool.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has issued an injury update ahead of his side's clash with Manchester United on Sunday. Sunday's clash between the two North-West rivals will be the stand-out fixture of the FA Cup quarter-finals, and United know they will need to be at their best to defeat one of the Premier League title contenders.

Erik ten Hag's men have improved their form over recent weeks, but they still have a distance to go until they can compete with the very best of the Premier League. The good news is that the FA Cup could still provide them with silverware this season, but the not so good news is that Liverpool stand in their way.

The Old Trafford faithful should help, as will the severe injury situation currently impacting Klopp and his squad. Providing an update in his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday, Klopp said: "Curtis [has a chance for the international break] then Diogo and Trent the week after, they have a chance. (Stefan) Bajcetic feels something but it's not injuries, it's intensity. We don't want to use him before he's really ready. His body was not really ready for the intensity. He is in a much better place now but we have to wait. Part of team training after the international break."

On Ibrahima Konate, Klopp added: "Ibou didn't train today. We have to see if he can train tomorrow but it will be a tight, tight race which we probably lose, but we don't know."

United drew with Liverpool earlier in the season, but Klopp may approach this one differently. "I don't know if we'll play the same game [as December's draw]," he admitted. "We really reached the next level in the season [after that].

"Before that, it was difficult to judge us, we had a lot to overcome, red cards, being 1-0 and then that game (vs United) I saw it was really us in the next gear. The result didn't show that. It's a home game for them but there were a lot of aspects in our game that were good and we will try to bring them on the pitch again. We might do some things differently."
