Jurgen Klopp admits fresh injury 'worry' ahead of Man Utd vs Liverpool

Liverpool will be sweating on the fitness of one player ahead of Sunday's FA Cup clash with Manchester United.

Liverpool have suffered a potential injury blow ahead of Sunday's FA Cup clash with Manchester United. Sunday will see the two North-West rivals go head-to-head at Old Trafford, with Erik ten Hag's men hoping to salvage silverware from what has been a disappointing campaign.

United do have a key advantage heading into the fixture, having a full week of rest and preparation, while Liverpool were in Europa League action on Thursday night, thrashing Sparta Prague 6-1 to make it 11-2 on aggregate, progressing to the quarter-finals of the competition. But while most players came through the clash without any issues, Liverpool were not totally unscathed.

That's because youngster Bobby Clark picked up what appeared to be an ankle injury, putting him at risk of missing Sunday's clash with United. Jurgen Klopp said after the game: "The plan was to take Mo off when we brought Mateusz on but then Bobby sat in front of me and it was clear that we could not do that now and Mo is still experienced enough that he recovered enough. I told him not to defend.

"He is the only one we worry [about] a little bit. I hope it's nothing. He sat there and said he felt something so we had to take him off. Besides that, everyone else will be fine."

The injury has added concern for Liverpool due to an extended injury list that includes the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota. Clark has filled in for five Premier League games so far this season, also making two Europa League, two FA Cup and two League Cup appearances. He will not be a question mark for Sunday's trip to Old Trafford.

Alisson Becker, Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, Joel Matip and Curtis Jones are set to miss out at Old Trafford but Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch could be in line to return for Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
