Jose Mourinho reunited with £52m Manchester United signing he 'never wanted' as management return 'agreed'
Jose Mourinho is reportedly set for an imminent return to management four months after he was sacked by AS Roma.
The former Manchester United manager had been linked with a possible return to the Premier League in recent weeks, but it is suggested he has instead agreed a deal to become the new Fenerbahce manager, in what will be his first managerial role in Turkey.

Hide AdFenerbahce are in the market for a manager this summer as Ismail Kartal's one-year deal with the club comes to an end. The Turkish giants are actually coming off the back of a great season, one that saw them finish the campaign with 99 points in the league and lose just once all season. However, it was remarkably not enough for them to win the title as Galatasaray won the league after accumulating a stunning 102 points.
After such an agonising end to the campaign, Fenerbahce are looking to bounce back with success next season and are targeting serial winner Mourinho to help them overcome their fierce rivals. It means Mourinho will be reunited with former United midfielder Fred, who joined the Turkish club a year ago, five years after he was signed by the Portuguese manager at Old Trafford.
A report from The Athletic later claimed Mourinho ‘never wanted’ to sign Fred in the first place, but he supposedly went ahead with the deal because he feared Ed Woodward would not sanction the signing of another midfielder if he refused him.
The 61-year-old was sacked as Roma manager back in January, despite winning the Conference League and reaching the Europa League final during his time at the club. Mourinho had been linked with a return to the Premier League at both former club Chelsea and Newcastle United.
