Jadon Sancho's return to Borussia Dortmund is getting closer.

Jadon Sancho has liked Fabrizio Romano’s post on X which claimed the Manchester United winger’s move to Borussia Dortmund is close to being completed.

The clubs agreed broad terms for a loan move last week with the finer details such as a fee and percentage of wages covered still to be ironed out. But Romano gave the deal the ‘here we go’ seal on Wednesday afternoon, as Sancho’s return to Dortmund draws nearer.

“Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund, here we go! Deal in place between Man United and BVB on loan, NO buy option,” the transfers reporter wrote on X. “Understand Sancho can travel later today for medical. BVB will cover part of the salary plus loan fee. €4m package.”

Sancho’s like of that post only adds credence to the reports that he is close to completing his return to the German side. The ex-Manchester City youngster joined United in 2021 for £73m but has managed just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances.

He played in the opening three matches this season before he was excluded from the squad for the fourth game, a trip to Arsenal at the beginning of September. Erik ten Hag claimed that was due to his performance in training, a version of events Sancho disputed.

He took to social media and wrote that Ten Hag’s comments were ‘totally untrue’ and added he had made him a ‘scapegoat’ by the United manager. Sancho has since been frozen out by the club and has been forced to train with the youth team, having refused to apologise.
