Jadon Sancho is being linked with a move away from Manchester United amid his disupute with Erik ten Hag.

Jadon Sancho is said to be eyeing a potential escape route from Manchester United. Sancho remains separated from the first-team group at Old Trafford following his fallout with Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag called out the winger after leaving him out of United’s squad to face Arsenal recently, criticising his lack of quality in training, and Sancho responded on social media, claiming he had been ‘made a scapegoat’ for some time. Ten Hag and Sancho have since met, and the result of that meeting was a demand for an apology from Ten Hag, who will continue to leave the winger training away from the first team until he gets what he wants.

The Dutchman’s hand has not exactly been strengthened over recent weeks, with United continuing their disappointing start to the season, losing at home to Crystal Palace last weekend ahead of losing again on Tuesday night, this time in the Champions League, at home to Galatasaray. The Red Devils have now lost both of their Champions League games up to this point, sitting four points behind second placed Galatasaray.

Pressure is now beginning to build for Ten Hag, even if he is safe for now, but he remains unrelenting as far as the Sancho situation is concerned. As a result, the winger is reportedly looking to secure an escape route from Old Trafford, with 90min reporting he wants to return to former club Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho joined United for £73million, and they are likely to want to reclaim a significant chunk of that, but a big loss is almost inevitable given the current situation. Sancho’s value has dropped throughout his time at Old Trafford, according to Transfermarkt, and it now sits at around £40million, around £8million less than the March valuation.

The winger’s current contract ends in 2026, with United holding an option to extend the deal by one year. The problem for United is that they cannot command big money for a player they do not currently have in their first-team plans, but given the wages they are paying to Sancho, they may have to consider a sale unless Ten Hag somehow winds up leaving first, potentially opening up the possibility of another manager getting the best out of Sancho.
