Manchester United have another fallout on their hands between Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho.

Fallouts have not been uncommon at Old Trafford in recent years amid a lack of success for the club, with the Cristiano Ronaldo’s bust-up being the biggest. But Sancho is the latest to find himself hitting back at his manager, in this case Ten Hag, with United already lacking harmony amid a mixed start to the season that has seen them win twice and lose as many.

Here we have rounded up all the latest surrounding the Sancho and Ten Hag situation.

What Ten Hag said

United boss Ten Hag began the spat by calling out Sancho after his side’s late defeat to Arsenal over the weekend.

Sancho was left out of the Red Devils’ matchday squad over the weekend, and that was despite youngsters Daniel Gore and Hannibal Mejbri getting spots on the bench. Ten Hag said when asked about the decision: “Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him.”

Ten Hag’s decision to call out his winger publically has been crticised by many, including Sancho himself.

Sancho hits back

Sancho took to social media to hit back at Ten Hag after those comments.

“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is (sic) completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week,” he wrote.

“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, l’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! “All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.

“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

Dressing room claim

According to Mark Ogden of ESPN, Sancho has isn’t exactly popular in the United dressing room.

He told BBCRadio 5 Live: “Not every player is popular with his teammates. Dressing rooms aren’t always happy places and I have been told there are some players that aren’t big fans of Jadon Sancho at Manchester United.

“If they feel his performances and commitment aren’t matching up to their level, it’s going to be an issue.”

Cole’s defence of Sancho

United legend Andy Cole has issued his verdict on the situation, telling Betfred: “I don’t know. I’ve seen all the reports and I’ve giggled at some of the more ridiculous ones, but it all depends on how people want to perceive this situation. If Sir Alex Ferguson ever had a problem with a player, it didn’t leave the dressing room.

“So you can argue that Erik ten Hag has come out and said something negative about his player and he didn’t have to do that. If he didn’t say anything, then nobody’s getting wind of this situation. However, now he’s made the situation public, Jadon has now come out to defend himself.

“Manchester United haven’t started the season in a good way and Erik ten Hag didn’t need to create another distraction that the club doesn’t need. It just didn’t need to happen. All the publicity surrounding the club at the moment is negative and it can have an adverse reaction on the players because people just expect them to get their heads down and play football, but of course this negativity is going to affect them.”
