Manchester United have had a bid worth up to £60m for Mason Mount accepted by Chelsea as they close in on their first signing of the summer, according to widespread reports.
Mount has been targeted by a number of clubs this summer after it emerged he would not sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge with just 12 months remaining on his contract.

Hide AdTransfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports United have agreed a ‘£60m package deal’ for the England international with David Ornstein of The Athletic revealing it is a base fee of £55m with £5m in add-ons.
Last week, Erik ten Hag’s side had a third bid for Mount worth £55m - a £50m fee plus £5m in add-ons - rejected by Chelsea who told United a £58m fee plus £7m in adds-on would be enough to secure Mount’s signature.
Now the clubs have reached a compromise as the Blues opted not to run the risk of losing Mount for nothing next summer. The midfielder had also been linked with Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Manchester World understands Mount also held talks with Liverpool over a potential move before making Old Trafford his preferred destination.

United are yet to bolster their squad following their qualification for the Champions League, with Mount now set to become their first senior signing of the summer. Mount won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, starting in the final as the Blues beat Man City 1-0 in Porto.
Mount came through the academy at Stamford Bridge and has been capped 36 times by England while spending time on loan with Dutch side Vitesse as well as Derby County in the Championship.
He has made 195 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 33 goals and providing 37 assists and will help provide more attacking threat for Ten Hag with a deal now agreed.
