Nineteen Manchester United players have been called up by senior squads for the current international break.

Most of those are expected to make the journey to Qatar later this year for the 2022 World Cup.

The tournament begins on 20 November and runs through to the final on Sunday 18 December.

Given their status as one of the world’s biggest clubs, United tend to have a plethora of representatives at football’s showpiece event.

Paul Pogba was a United player in 2018 when he led France to glory in Russia, while the England squad which made it to the semi-finals that year contained four United stars.

With the current international break marking the final time squads will meet up before the World Cup, the focus already feels geared towards the tournament in two months’ time, rather than the fixtures in September.

With that in mind, we’ve taken a look at 24 United players who have a realistic chance of making it to the World Cup, and assessed how likely they are to travel to Qatar, barring any untimely injury between now and the big kick-off.

The list doesn’t include the likes of Eric Bailly or Scott McTominay, whose countries haven’t qualified for the World Cup.

Nor have we mentioned players such as Tom Heaton, Aaron Wan-Bissaka or Phil Jones, who have either never earned a senior international cap or not been involved in the set-up for several years.
