How Man United and Man City owners' stunning value compares to Liverpool, Arsenal & other billion-pound sports empires

Where the Glazer Family and City Football Group rank among the richest sports empires in the world.

Forbes has released the 2024 list of the World's Most Valuable Sports Empires and the top 25 have an aggregate enterprise value of $216 billion (£185bn). This is a stark 24 percent increase from the previous year.

The owners of both Manchester United and Manchester City feature in this eye-watering list. City Football Group, who also own New York City FC and Melbourne City FC have a current valuation of $6.85 billion (£5.88bn), up 15 percent in a year. However, the Glazer Family are significantly in front, valued at $8.02 billion (£6.89bn) — up seven percent — with their portfolio including United and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
