

How Ronaldo’s Man Utd earnings compare to Messi, Neymar & others in Forbes Highest Paid Athletes list
Here’s how much Cristiano Ronaldo has earned in 2022 on and off the pitch compared to other world-renown athletes.
The highly anticipated Forbes top 10 highest-paid list has been revealed with some of the world’s biggest athletes amongst it.
It is made up of a range of stars from multiple sports, including football, basketball, tennis, boxing and American football.
Forbes has compiled the earnings of these 10 names through their on-field and off-field earnings.
They deem on-field earnings as figures including ‘all prize money, salaries and bonuses earned between 1 May, 2021, and 1 May, 2022’.
Whereas off-field earnings are described as an ‘estimate of sponsorship deals, appearance fees and memorabilia and licensing income for the 12 months leading to 1 May 2022, plus cash returns from any businesses operated by the athlete, based on conversations with industry insiders’.
Let’s take a look at where Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo ranks among the top 10 highest-paid athletes in 2022.

1. 10thL Giannis Antetokounmpo - $80.9m

2. 9th: Tom Brady - $83.9m

3. 8th: Canelo Alvarez - $90m
Boxing’s only representation on the list, Alvarez earned a handsome $85m in the ring, while a partnership with Hennessey and owning a taco restaurant make up the other earnings. Photo: Getty Images

4. 7th: Roger Federer - $90.7m
