'Here we go!' - Fabrizio Romano confirms Manchester United agreement for first summer signing
Manchester United will waste no time with their summer transfer business after the conclusion of the Premier League season at the weekend. United ended the season on a high with a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa to confirm a 15th place finish in the English top-flight.
It was an afternoon of goodbyes at Old Trafford, as the club confirmed Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Christian Eriksen would all leave the club as free agents. There could be further farewells with Alejandro Garnacho one of several players expected to be sold in the forthcoming window.

The Portuguese head coach is set to target players with Premier League experience in an effort to improve the athleticism of his side, with a top six finish the target for next season.
Matheus Cunha set to advance
Manchester United have been in talks with Matheus Cunha over a proposed move in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old was one of the star performers of the Premier League campaign with 15 goals and six assists for Wolves.
A move for Cunha was never going to be impacted by the result of the Europa League final, with the Brazilian sold on the project at Old Trafford, irrespective of Champions League qualification. There are also no concerns over the financing of the deal, which is viewed as a rather straightforward one to complete.
Cunha insisted on a £62.5 million release clause when he signed his latest Wolves contract at the start of the year, a price that United believe is fair value for a player with high potential. It is understood United will pay the release clause in a series of instalments to minimise the initial transfer cost and give them greater room to manoeuvre in the remainder of the transfer window.

Verbal agreement in place between all parties involved," he wrote on social media. “Cunha will sign deal until June 2030 with option until 2031. Wolves to receive £62.5m clause value in installments. Formal steps/contracts to be checked next week.”
