Rasmus Hojlund scored twice as Man Utd defeated Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Rasmus Hojlund has revealed how Ruben Amorim inspired him to play a hand in all three Manchester United goals as they defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday night.

United took the lead after just 48 seconds when Hojlund closed down goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin and forced him to gift the ball to Alejandro Garnacho for a tap-in. Bodo/Glimt scored twice in four minutes to turn the game on it's head, before Hojlund netted on the stroke of half-time to level the scores.

Amorim's side restored their lead just five minutes after the restart when Hojlund converted Manuel Ugarte's low cross into the box to cap what was a fine individual performance, and after the game he revealed the influence the head coach had on his overall approach to the match.

"He told me not to think too much about the guys behind me and just work on what I can see in front of me. We saw that with the first goal," he told TNT Sports after the match. "The manager told me at half-time to stick to running at the near post and we saw with the third goal how it worked out."

Asked how he has found Amorim's tactical demands since he arrived at the club, Hojlund added: "Obviously it's going to take time and we can already see some patterns. Now for us it's time to build. For me this system reminds me of how I played in a 3-4-3 at Atalanta. It suits me well."
