United have lost their opening two games of the new Premier League season against Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford respectively and find themselves bottom of the table.

Here is a look at the additions over recent years that Neville believes flopped after moving to Old Trafford, with fees via Transfermarkt:

Marouane Fellaini

Fee: £29m Current team: Shandong Taishan

Juan Mata

Fee: £40m Current team: Free agent

This one seems harsh considering the Spaniard spent nine years with United. He made 285 appearances for the club and chipped in with 51 goals.

Marcos Rojo

Fee: £18m Current team: Boca Juniors

Angel Di Maria

Fee: £67.5m Current team: Juventus

The Argentina international was a big-name signing when he arrived in the North West but he struggled to live up to his name and his price tag, scoring just four goals before he was sold to PSG after a year.
