Gary Neville makes Ralf Rangnick claim as Man Utd set for Jim Ratcliffe 'extra' investment boost

Neville on Rangnick

Gary Neville has questioned United's decision to ship former interim boss Ralf Rangnick out of the club. Rangnick was not going to work out as a long-term manager, but he was meant to take up a two-year consultancy role after his interim spell.

That never happened, though, with Rangnick angering many because of his complaints about the club and its current infrastructure. Speaking about the situation on the Webby and O’Neill YouTube channel, Neville said: "As soon as he started unleashing the truth about the club, they got him out there as quickly as possible.”

Ratcliffe investment

Jim Ratcliffe is set to hand United a huge financial boost if his partial takeover goes through as expected. Ratcliffe is expected to complete a 25% takeover of the club, and he is hoping to secure control of football operations.

According to Sky News, Ratcliffe is planning to invest £245million of personal wealth into the club to boost finances, and that investment, according to the report, will be for club infrastructure. It's added that none of that money will be used for squad improvements, contracts or transfers. Nevertheless, it could be a big boost for United who are still in the process of planning stadium improvements.
