Gary Neville likens Rasmus Hojlund to striker of Man Utd's Premier League rivals amid superb form

Gary Neville has been raving about one Manchester United player who has been in superb form.

Gary Neville is getting excited about one Manchester United star amid the Red Devils' return to form. Erik ten Hag's men put together a disappointing start to the season, but they look to have turned a corner over recent weeks, returning to the top four conversation.

United are now in sixth place and just five points behind Aston Villa in fourth, winning their last four games. A number of players have picked up form, and striker Rasmus Hojlund is one of them, with the pricey summer signing finding his feet in the Premier League.

Hojlund struggled to find the net early in his time at Old Trafford, but he has now scored eight goals in as many games after netting during the win over Luton Town over the weekend. "Hojlund looked like a Haaland in the making - that power, that strength and aggression in his running," Neville said on Sky Sports. "I've always like that about a Manchester United centre-forward." Expanding on United's win over Luton, Neville added: "The second half was better than the first, it was a considered performance, more measured. Evans and Varane looked composed and the midfield took control of the game. They had four big chances, well done to Thomas Kaminski - he did really well.

"But they couldn't finish Luton off. United had to defend their box well as Luton had five corners in the last few minutes, Evans cleared three of them. At a ground where it's back to the olden days, it felt like an FA Cup tie - and it was a test of United's mettle to defend set-pieces and cope with it. They did that in the second half." United's form has them back in the top four conversation, and Neville believes they have given themselves a real shot at catching those above.

"You can feel Ten Hag is more confident in his team and that they're in a better place," he continued. "He'll fancy hunting down Tottenham and Villa for the top four. They'll be feeling the pressure. I'm not saying Man Utd will get there but there is a bit between their teeth."
