Fulham are set to be without star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Manchester United.

The 28-year-old, who was named in Serbia’s World Cup squad, missed last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City with a foot injury and speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marco Silva confirmed the problem will rule him out of the upcoming league clash at Craven Cottage.

Fulham will also be without long-term absentees Manor Solomon and Neeskens Kebano, while Kenny Tete and Harrison Reed picked up their fifth bookings of the campaign last week at the Etihad, ruling them out of the visit of United. But there’s better news regarding Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who is back from a one-game ban.

As for United, they have their own suspension issues. Diogo Dalot also received a fifth booking of the season last week and won’t be involved for the Red Devils, but Bruno Fernandes returns in the league after missing last week’s loss to Aston Villa.

Raphael Varane and Brandon Williams are out through injury, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not expected to return following a recent knock. Cristiano Ronaldo is also a major for United and missed the midweek Carabao Cup win over Villa due to illness.

Speaking on Thursday, Erik ten Hag said he is not sure if the forward will return in time for United’s final game before the World Cup. “I can’t guarantee that now [if Ronaldo will be fit] and he was ill today,” said the Dutchman. “He can recover from that. It’s not a serious illness that takes days or weeks. I think it is possible that he is available for Sunday and that he will be in the squad.”

Jadon Sancho is also expected to miss out, while Antony is suffering from a hip injury which may prevent him from playing. “We will work on that but I can’t confirm that he will be in the squad for Sunday,” Ten Hag explained ahead of the match. “But he made progress in the last days and we will see tomorrow, Saturday, if he will be available for the team on Sunday.”
