'What they paid' - Manchester United praised for 'brilliant signing' who has justified transfer fee already

Man Utd overhauled their first-team squad in the summer transfer window with three new attackers signed.

Manchester United made it their priority to overhaul their attack in the summer, and it looks like it could pay off. Ruben Amorim was backed with £200 million to spend on new forwards, as Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko moved to Old Trafford.

The trio all started the weekend win over Brighton and could retain their places in the line up for the trip to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Mbeumo netted twice in their latest victory, while Sesko played a key role with his link-up play that brought teammates into the game.

Cunha might be the best signing, though. He has already been compared with Eric Cantona for his style of play and 'arrogance' in a United shirt, while he netted his first goal for the club last weekend. The Brazilian international not only poses an immense attacking threat, but he is also a creative outlet in midfield and sets the tone with his work rate.

Cunha hailed by former Liverpool defender

Stephen Warnock compared Matheus Cunha with Eric Cantona after Manchester United defeated Liverpool at Anfield earlier in the month. He has now piled even more praise onto the former Wolves forward, who he believes has been a 'brilliant' signing and represents great value for money at £62.5 million.

"He has been exceptional. I was at the Liverpool vs Manchester United game and I thought he was the best player on the pitch by a mile,” he told Esports Bets.

"He has got that arrogance on the ball, where he is comfortable with two or three players around him. He draws fouls; he has quick feet. The one thing I questioned about him last year was his work rate. Could he go to United and do the pressing side of things? He is starting to show he can.

"When he picked up an injury a few weeks back, I wondered whether that was because of the intensity of trying to play a different style of football. But I think for what they paid for him, it is a brilliant signing. I really do, in today's market. He is a key player in what United needs, and also that arrogance. I said it was a big shout to go with early on, but he has got that arrogance of a Cantona. He has embraced playing for United, and every time he steps out onto the pitch, he is showing why they signed him."
