It was a weekend to remember for Manchester United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side beat Leeds United 5-1 at Old Trafford on the first weekend of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

While there were some standout performances in a red shirt, it was Bruno Fernandes who scooped the man of the match award after the game - a well deserved accolade after his first United hat-trick, on an afternoon when he ran Leeds ragged.

It wasn’t the only reward for his outstanding display, and the Red Devils No.18 actually collected more Premier League Fantasy Football Football points than any other player in England’s top flight over the weekend.

Fernandes was rewarded with 20 points, three more than his closest competitor Mohamed Salah.

United also registered the third-highest score at the weekend, with Paul Pogba collecting 16 points following his four assists in the 5-1 demolition.

Chelsea defenders Marcos Alonso (15) and Trevoh Chalobah (14) complete the top five from gameweek one after both scoring and keeping a clean sheet in the Blues’ 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Mason Greenwood scored eight points from his impressive showing against Leeds, while Fred also picked up seven.

As for Manchester City, their highest tally from a disappointing opening weekend was Benjamin Mendy - who received three points despite having a very tough afternoon in North London, which culminated in him being withdrawn in the second half.

Summer signing Jack Grealish collected just a solitary point after an underwhelming debut for Pep Guardiola’s side.
