Fans react on social media as Manchester United look set to appoint Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United fans are anticipating an official announcement soon on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s successor at Old Trafford.

‘The Godfather of German football’ Ralph Rangnick is waiting in the wings amid reports he has agreed a deal ‘in principle’ with United.

A six-month deal is on the table on an interim basis, it is understood, followed by a two-year consultancy role. The BBC’s Simon Stone has reported on Friday afternoon that United have ‘reached an agreement’ with Lokomotiv Moscow but there are still contractual details and work permits issues to sort before an official announcement can be made.

However, not all fans are optimistic about the likely appointment of Rangnick:
