Joao Felix is available for a January transfer but Manchester United are yet to make an offer for the attacker, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Portugal international has been linked with a high-profile move away from Atletico Madrid in January with the Mirror claiming United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are among the clubs keen on landing Felix. The same outlet add the 23-year-old’s relationship with manager Diego Simeone has become ‘untenable’.

Meanwhile, Atletico executive Miguel Angel Gil recently admitted the side from the Spanish capital are willing to let Felix leave. "He is the biggest investment the club has ever made and I think he is at the highest level in the world in terms of talent," he told TVE.

"But for reasons that are not worth going into now - the relationship with the coach, the number of minutes he is playing, his motivation - the reasonable thing is that if there is an offer that is good for the player and the club, that we at least analyse it. I would love him to continue, but that is not the player’s idea."

Despite that, transfer guru Romano has stated United are yet to open negotiations with Atletico. “Joao Felix is available, on the market if the right proposal arrives in the next week,” he told The United Stand.

“They want more than €100m - this is what Atletico are going to ask for the player. Let’s remember they invested €127m in 2019 on Joao Felix, this is why it is not an easy negotiation for the clubs.

“Manchester United, at the moment, are not in conversations with Atletico Madrid. It is not a club to club negotiation, it is just his agent, Jorge Mendes, who is approaching many clubs. There are many opportunities for Joao Felix. At the moment, there is nothing advanced with any club.

“My feeling is it will take some time to understand if Atletico will change their stance on the price or maybe the form of the deal, if it can be a loan with an obligation to buy. The clubs are waiting to see what Atletico will decide, together with Mendes, in the next week.”
