Fabrizio Romano names two stars Ruben Amorim will build his Manchester United team around
Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim will take charge of the club for the first time when they face Ipswich Town this weekend.
The excitement is building ahead of Ruben Amorim's first match in charge as the new head coach of Manchester United this weekend.
United return to action when they travel to face Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and there will not only be a new look on the touchlines, but also on the pitch, with Amorim expected to change their tactical approach. It remains to be seen whether or not the 39-year-old will gradually ease United into a 3-4-3 set-up, or if he might gradually ease them into their new formation during the season.
Another key change could be the return of injured players, with Kobbie Mainoo and Leny Yoro both hoping to return to action in the coming weeks after Tyrell Malacia returned from his long setback last week.
Speaking ahead of the return to action against Ipswich, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano gave his verdict on the United squad and named two players he believes will be crucial under Amorim.
“Kobbie Mainoo is a crucial player for Manchester United owners, directors, and for the Manchester United staff,” said Romano on his YouTube channel. “Ruben Amorim loves these kind of players. Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro… these sort of players are exactly the direction he wants to take for Man Utd’s future.
“So the new contract of Mainoo is going to be an important topic in the next few weeks and months. Man Utd are still working on it. We are not yet at the final stages but the conversation remains ongoing and the conversation remains positive on both player and club sides.”
