‘Could still leave’ - Fabrizio Romano gives transfer update on Man Utd defender

Fabrizio Romano has said Aaron Wan-Bissaka is attracting interest from the Premier League and Serie A this summer.

Manchester United are open to letting the right-back leave during the transfer window, five years on from his arrival from Crystal Palace. Wan-Bissaka is among a number of players the new Ineos regime are willing to move on this summer, along with the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Scott McTominay Donny van de Beek, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood, while Raphael Varane, Brandon Williams and Anthony Martial have already departed.

Wan-Bissaka has found himself playing second choice at right-back this season behind Diogo Dalot, although the club’s lack of options at full-back saw United’s no.29 start the final 13 matches of the campaign.

Writing on X, Romano gave an update on the 26-year-old’s transfer status. “Aaron Wan-Bissaka could still leave Man United in case of good bid this summer,” claimed the transfer journalist.

“Not guaranteed exit yet but possible as he has one year left on his contract, attracting interest from PL and Italy.”

Should Wan-Bissaka move on this summer, United may look to bring in another option at right-back. That has been Erik ten Hag’s ambition in each of the last two summer windows, but those plans have been shelved due to other targets taking prominence.

Wan-Bissaka has made 190 appearances for United since his £50m move from Selhurst Park in 2019 and has scored two goals. Inter Milan and Galatasaray have been linked with the defensively astute full-back, something of a rarity in modern football.
