Louis Saha has told ManchesterWorld that Manchester United must sign a back-up striker to help Cristiano Ronaldo next season, if the team are to succeed.
The Red Devils wrapped up a dismal campaign by losing 1-0 to Crystal Palace on the final weekend of the season, with Erik ten Hag in attendance at Selhurst Park.

Ralf Rangnick’s side relied hugely on the 37-year-old to contribute a significant portion of the team’s goals in 2021/22, with Ronaldo scoring 18 of United’s 57 in the league.
But Saha, who played with the Portugal international during his first stint at Old Trafford, said the Red Devils cannot rely purely on Ronaldo next season and need to bring in back-up for the former Real Madrid star.

“Clearly what he has done has been exceptional, but you can’t expect that to happen next year,” Saha told ManchesterWorld.

United have been linked with several centre-forwards over recent weeks, including Harry Kane, Richarlison, Darwin Nunez and Victor Osimhen, with the transfer market set to open in June.
Edinson Cavani is expected to depart United before then, with his contract set to expire. Meanwhile, there are doubts surrounding the future of Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood remains suspended by the club.
Saha was speaking to ManchesterWorld following Saturday’s charity game between United and Liverpool Legends, with the latter winning 3-1 at Old Trafford.
