Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri is reportedly attracting interest from La Liga after one report suggested Erik ten Hag could allow the Uruguayan youngster to depart Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old has made six appearances in all competitions so far this season and was even handed a surprise start in the 4-3 defeat his side suffered in their opening Champions League group stage game at German giants Bayern Munich.

Speaking of his shock selection against the Bundesliga champions, Ten Hag told TNT Sports: "Pellistri is doing very well, over a long period. He came from South America and to start against Brighton would be a tough journey. Today, I think tactically, it fits very good because (Alphonso) Davies is very offensive.

"He’s got a lot of speed, and Pellistri can match that. Davies is not a great defender and his dribbling, so yeah, a good game for it (to start Pellistri). We can have a lot of possession and with Bruno in the No.10, he’s creative and a very good presser as well.”

A first league start of the campaign came in the recent home defeat against Crystal Palace and he has featured in matchday squads in every first-team fixture so far this season.

However, one report in Spanish outlet Fichajes has suggested Pellestri and his agent are ‘expected to explore options’ ahead of the January transfer window as he looks to secure regulars starts with a new club. The report suggests newly-appointed Sevilla manager Diego Alonso has has ‘directed’ the reigning Europa League champions to make a move for the United winger - but also reveals the deal can only happen if the La Liga outfit are able to move on at least two members of their current squad.

A loan deal is described as ‘an ideal solution for both parties’ and Sevilla are said to be ‘an extremely attractive destination’ for Pellistri to take the next step in his career.
