Manchester United are reportedly considering an approach to rivals Leeds United for midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

The 26-year-old has been an integral part of the Whites’ setup in recent years and has captured the attention of a number of clubs since breaking into the England squad in 2020.

Phillips has been linked amid the expected exits of midfielders Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba, with sources telling The Athletic contact has been made with intermediaries.

A fee of around £50million has been reported but the likes of West Ham United, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for the midfielder.

Should Phillips make the switch, he would be the first Leeds star to move to Old Trafford since Alan Smith in 2004.

Ten Hag pushes for move to sign Juventus free agent

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport have reported United are showing a genuine interest in signing Juventus forward Paulo Dybala.

Dybala is set to leave the Serie A giants when his current contract comes to an end in June and he has already been linked with several elite clubs around Europe.

Incoming Red Devils manager Ten Hag is said to have ‘pushed’ the Old Trafford hierarchy into considering a move for the Argentina international as he prepares to take charge this summer.

Inter Milan are said to be among the frontrunners in the race to sign Dybala - but Spurs, PSG, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are all said to be showing an interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

United could face auction for Serie A star

A recent report in Gazzetta dello Sport indicated United and PSG are ‘in pole position’ to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - and fellow Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport have suggested an offer from Old Trafford would be considered ‘first of all’.

A fee of £62million has been suggested but Lazio are keen to force an auction as they look to maximise the price placed upon the head of their prized asset.
