Erik ten Hag confirms triple Man Utd injury boost ahead of Liverpool and issues Mason Mount update

Erik ten Hag has provided the Manchester United injury latest ahead of Sunday's FA Cup clash with Liverpool.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed positive injury news on five players ahead of Sunday's clash with Liverpool. The Red Devils are preparing to face one of their biggest rivals in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, hoping to keep their chances of winning silverware this season alive.

It's set up to be a hugely fascinating clash, and especially factoring in some of the injuries both sides are dealing with currently. In United's case, they remain without Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw. But there is good news when it comes to Harry Maguire, Rasmus Hojlund and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who have all spent time on the sidelines of late.

"We had a good week," Ten Hag said in his press conference. "The players you mention (Hojlund, Maguire and Wan-Bissaka) returned on the pitch, partly at the start of the week and today they had a session and are all training. I think [they will be fit to play]. Tomorrow we have one session. We have to see how they recover from this but it looks good."

Ten Hag also provided good news on Tom Heaton and Mason Mount, the latter of which has missed the majority of his first season at the club with a calf injury. Ten Hag added: "Tom Heaton is back as well, also very good. Mason Mount trained all week with us, he had some full sessions with us, so it's looking good."

Mount is unlikely to be risked on Sunday, but he looks set to return after the international break, which begins after Sunday's clash with Liverpool.
