Erik ten Hag has been speaking ahead of Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray on Tuesday night.

The Red Devils suffered yet another setback in the Premier League over the weekend, losing at home to a Crystal Palace team they had beaten comfortably in the Carabao Cup just days earlier. They now have another home clash to prepare for, and this time in the Champions League.

United lost their first Champions League clash of the season, against Bayern Munich, and the clashes with Galatasaray will be crucial.

The Turkish giants drew their opener with Copenhagen, and that will be seen as a good result by United, as long as they can take care of business against Tuesday night’s visitors themselves.

Ahead of the clash, Ten Hag has confirmed that Antony will be in consideration. Antony had been on mutually-agreed leave amid allegations of violence towards women, allegations he denies.

The Brazilian was deemed eligible to return by the club on Saturday and he will now be looking to regain match sharpness quickly.

“Antony will be in consideration but yesterday was his first time back in team training,” Ten Hag said in his pre-match press conference. “We have a final training, then we’ll make a decision. I can confirm, yeah. Licha Martinez will undergo surgery and the team news is Antony can probably return.”

Speaking about United’s poor form, Ten Hag added: “We are disappointed about the result. You have to analyse the game, see the problems and move forward.”

The Dutchman continued: “I think I don’t agree with that (no progress). the team is moving forward, but we have to make adjustments as well. When you don’t have a left-back [fit], we have to change and we did. At the end of the day, it’s about results and we didn’t get the result we were looking for, which is very disappointing.”
