United will be without suspended club captain Bruno Fernandes, while midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is still sidelined with injury. Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are all also still injured while Mason Mount has missed the last three matches.

Ahead of the game, Ten Hag put his side through their paces at Carrington and cast his eye over a number of exciting young talents, who will all be hoping to travel to Istanbul on Wednesday.

The most notable was summer signing Sekou Kone, who trained with the first-team squad for the first time since his deadline day arrival from Malian club Guidars FC. The 18-year-old was spotted donning the No.42 shirt on his training gear, and although he could feature for the U21s initially, he is very much viewed as a first-team addition.

Academy defenders Harry Amass and Habeeb Ogunneye were both also involved, with at least one of them likely to be included in the travelling squad given the shortage of options at full-back. Amir Ibragimov, Ethan Wheatley, Ruben Curley, Sam Mather and Ethan Ennis were all also spotted taking pat in the training session on Tuesday.

There will be an updated training squad list when United take part in open training on Wednesday morning ahead of their flight to Istanbul later in the day.
