Donny van de Beek has joined Everton on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

The Dutchman, who signed for Manchester United in the summer of 2020, has struggled for regular game-time in his first 18 months at the club, and has played just 14 times this season, with only four starts. Telling, he hasn’t started a Premier League game all season for the Red Devils.

In a statement on their official website, said: “A decision was made to allow Donny to look for regular football elsewhere. Everybody at United wishes Donny well for the rest of the season.”

The former Ajax man has scored just twice in 50 appearances since signing for United, and joins an Everton side who are currently 16th and only four points clear of the relegation zone.

Van de Beek will hope to hold down a spot in the team under newly-appointed manager Frank Lampard, with Dele Alli also reportedly set to move to Goodison Park on deadline-day.

Despite Van de Beek’s move to Merseyside, interim Ralf Rangnick is believed to be keen on the 24-year-old remaining at Old Trafford long-term, and has even spoken in the past about his admiration of the player.

Should Paul Pogba leave the club in the summer that would also reduce the competition for places in midfield and potentially afford Van de Beek more minutes.

Meanwhile, ManchesterWorld understands Jesse Lingard will not leave the club before Monday’s 11pm deadline, and will remain at United for the remainder of the campaign.
