Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand has told Rasmus Hojlund he is sometimes working too hard when it comes to trying to be involved in matches.
The 21-year-old put in a resolute display as Denmark drew 1-1 with Slovenia in their European Championship opener at the weekend, but offered little threat in front of goal with only one notable chance during the match.

Hide AdHojlund has blown hot and cold for both club and country during his senior career, and has gone five international matches without a goal after seven in his first nine appearances.
Denmark will be hoping Hojlund can find his shooting boots when they take on England in their second match of Euro 2024 tomorrow and ahead of the game, Hjulmand has urged the United forward to stay patient in attack.
“He has a lot of energy and wants to be involved, and that is one of his greatest strengths," the Danish manager told a press conference. "But he makes a huge effort for the team. It is a completely different scenario if he had put it [his chance] past Oblak.
“He plays a good match and invests what he has to. We want to get Rasmus going and have him score goals, but that will come if he keeps working the way he is doing.”

Hide AdHjulmand added: “He uses a lot of energy. Maybe once in a while he doesn’t need to drop down and be part of the game. We have many who do. “He wants to be involved. That’s why he often drops down, where maybe sometimes he just has to stay away and keep calm when we have the ball.”
