David De Gea has equalled Peter Schmeichel’s clean sheets record at Manchester United and moved up to 13th in the club’s all-time appearance rankings after their 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.
The Spaniard kept his 128th clean sheet, the same number as former Red Devils’ legend Schmeichel, in their Premier League victory over the Seagulls - a result that moved them up to fourth in the table.

The Red Devils’ No.1 joined the club from Atletico Madrid for a reported £18.9m in July 2011 and has since been a regular between the sticks.
His start against Brighton means he has now featured 472 times for United in all competitions, moving him above former fans’ favourite Brian McClair into 13th in the all-time appearances rankings.
De Gea’s dual records shows how much of an impact he has had at Old Trafford since his arrival, especially considering he has worked under six managers.

Given his age and current form, there is no telling where De Gea will finish in the all-time appearance rankings.
He previously surpassed Red Devils’ icon George Best (470) when starting against Southampton in their 1-1 draw on February 12.
