Two Man Utd legends have shared their thoughts on the future of manager Erik ten Hag.

Gary Neville believes Erik ten Hag deserves one more season in charge of Manchester United, while David Beckham has also defended the under fire manager

There is continued speculation over the future of Ten Hag at Old Trafford as the Ineos Group contemplate what to do with the managerial position after a disappointing season. United are on course for their lowest ever finish in the Premier League era, with their hopes of European qualification likely to hinge upon defeating fierce rivals Man City in the FA Cup final.

Club sources insist the Ineos group, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are yet to make a decision on Ten Hag's future, and while performances haven't been good enough for much of the season, it is hard to look beyond the serious injury issues that have ravaged the squad throughout the campaign.

United supporters still appear to be divided on the matter and Neville believes Ten Hag deserves another season in charge of the club at least. “I don’t see any suitable replacements out there at this moment in time," he told BBC Sport. "Bayern Munich are struggling to find a replacement for their manager. Other clubs are struggling as well.

“I think we should stick with Erik ten Hag, give him one more season – particularly an injury-free season, we’ve had a lot of injuries this season. So I would say one more season would be worthy to see if we can get back to the standards of last season, where we won a trophy and finished in the top four and got Champions League football.”

Speaking to talkSPORT at the premiere of ‘99’, Beckham said of Ten Hag: "We all know that Erik's a very qualified manager and a good manager and he has the right motives. But I think we were lucky in our day that we had Sir Alex Ferguson, we were lucky that we had Eric Harrison and Jim Ryan and Nobby Stiles and all of these great managers and motivators."
