Manchester United have one foot in the Europa League final after they defeated Athletic Club 3-0 in the first leg of their semi-final on Thursday night. Casemiro opened the scoring before Bruno Fernandes bagged a brace to give Ruben Amorim's side a comfortable lead ahead of next week's second leg.
Amorim is well aware that success in the Europa League will not turn their season into a good one, though there is an acknowledgement it would salvage the campaign with Champions League qualification. United originally budgeted for next season without European football and could see their summer plans changed if they go on to win the competition.
A place in the Champions League would not only result in more money for United to spend this summer, it would also make them a more attractive proposition for potential signings. Here is how they could line up next season if they go on to win the Europa League.
