Crawley Town boss blames ‘balls up’ with paperwork for jeopardising Manchester United loan deal

John Yems says he’s very ‘disappointed’ the loan deal for D’Mani Mellor is unlikely to go ahead before the transfer deadline.

The Crawley Town manager John Yems has blamed a ‘right balls up’ with paperwork for the likely collapse of a loan deal for a Manchester United player.

Sky Sports had reported that a deal was imminent for D’Mani Mellor on Friday.

However, Yems told a press conference today: “We are trying a few but we had some disappointing news concerning the Manchester United player, there was a right balls-up with the paperwork from their end and I don’t think that will go through, we are trying to rectify it.
