'Come back different' - £86m Man Utd signing's agent makes bold claim and addresses growing transfer talk

Recent reports have linked this Manchester United star to the exit following a run of disappointing form.

There has been a number of contrasting reports recently over Antony's future at Manchester United. The Brazilian joined the club in 2022 from Ajax for a fee of £86 million, and criticism has come his way this season as he has struggled in front of goal.

The 23-year-old has not registered a single goal or assist in any competition this term and the Evening Standard recently reported that United were looking to sanction exits for both Antony and Jadon Sancho.

The report claimed the Reds had offered both players to Saudi Arabia and wanted £50 million for each, but Fabrizio Romano argued to The United Stand that he didn't believe Erik ten Hag and co were actively looking to offload Antony.

The Brazilian winger's agent, Junior Pedroso, has also poured cold water on claims that his client is being nudged out of Old Trafford. Speaking to United In Focus, he stressed that Antony is focused on improving at the club and is aware that he needs to step up his performances in front of goal.

"Manchester has so far not communicated any interest in transferring him in either the January or summer window,” Pedroso said. "Antony is focused on these four months of the season so he can improve his performance, knowing that he needs to score goals and assists.

"This is his focus. Today our head is on Manchester United. He knows very well that he needs to score, there’s no point in just playing good games, he has to score goals and provide assists. He is very coherent about this. He will come back different, his head has become a little key and certainly in these four months he will show much more than he showed this season."

Antony scored eight goals in his debut season with United but this time round he has struggled to find his groove. The winger has made 22 appearances so far and is still waiting for his first goalscoring contribution.

Pedroso also revealed that Antony has changed his home routine and is 'eating and sleeping better' as he makes improvements on himself and his performance.
