Club chief ‘angry and sad’ about Man Utd speculation, Red Devils plot ‘£8.4m’ attacker reunion

As we enter the final week of the summer transfer window, Manchester United still have plenty of unresolved business to work through.

The Red Devils are still in the market for attacking reinforcements, as well as a new goalkeeper, while various players are still being touted for possible exits.

Marseille not in for Ronaldo

Marseille have not opened talks to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been linked with a move to the Ligue 1 outfit in recent days, but Romano has sought to clear up any doubt surrounding the player’s current situation.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, he said:“I want to clarify the Marseille rumours in France.

“I know their fans are going crazy, but at the moment there is nothing. No meetings, no negotiations.

“It’s also important to say that the Marseille president is angry and sad with those rumours.”

Trapp snubs United

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has turned down an offer from United, according to the player himself.

The Red Devils are in the market for a second-choice stopper, but the 32-year-old has denied that he will be making a move to Old Trafford.

Speaking to BILD, he said: “In the past few days, much has been reported about Manchester United’s interest. It is correct that there is a written offer.

“Manchester United is a world club. I hope everyone can understand that I am dealing with such an offer and thinking about it.

“Yesterday I informed the responsible persons of both clubs that I had decided for Eintracht.

“I experienced sensational things here with Eintracht and we made history together. The start of the season was bumpy, but I have absolute confidence in us.”

United eye Depay reunion

United could be willing to launch a bid to re-sign Memphis Depay, according to Marca.

The Red Devils are currently in the market for attacking reinforcements, while Barcelona are understood to be keen on offloading the Dutchman in an effort to free up space on their wage bill.

As such, a cut-price deal could be in the offing, with an offer of around United’s offer of around £8.4 million touted.
