Exclusive: Man Utd forward set to leave this summer amid Premier League & Championship interest
Charlie McNeill is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season when his contract at the club expires.
ManchesterWorld understands the striker, who joined United from rivals Manchester City in 2020 for a fee of £750,000, is set to depart permanently this summer following two loan moves in recent years.

Hide AdMcNeill spent the second half of the 2022/23 at Newport County, and played all 20 league matches after his switch, managing two goals. He returned to the EFL at the start of this season and signed a short-term deal with Stevenage.
The 20-year-old began his stint in League One with a goal on his debut but was limited to just three appearances through injury. He returned to United in January and has played for the club’s Under-21 side in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign, while training with the first team on several occasions.
But with other attacking options such as Joe Hugill and Ethan Wheatley on United’s books, McNeill will look for a fresh challenge this summer. Despite a frustrating two years for the youngster, there’s still plenty of interest given his previous successes at youth level with 34 goals in 35 appearances for United’s Under-18s. There’s also a belief that, at 20, the player still has real room for growth.
A move to a Championship looks the most likely option, although there has been interest from Premier League sides, as well as from clubs in Portugal and Germany.
