Casemiro 'offered' Man Utd exit route as club eyes move for defender in contract talks

Casemiro has struggled for form in his second season with Manchester United and has been subject to interest from Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr are eyeing up moves for Manchester United's Casemiro and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this month, according to reports. The Red Devils haven't dipped into the transfer market just yet and they seem unlikely to so before the February 1 deadline with Erik ten Hag casting doubt on the club's ability to spend while Jim Ratcliffe's takeover is waiting to be ratified.

However, the club have been open to players leaving this month, with Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez being amongst those to step through the Old Trafford exit door, albeit on a temporary basis, while Sergio Reguilon has seen his loan terminated. Yet more could be on their way before the window closes and according to HITC, they could be about to receive offers from Saudi Arabia for Casemiro and Wan-Bissaka.

Casemiro has struggled for form in his second season with the club and hasn't played at all since October after picking up an injury. As such, his game time over the second half of the campaign looks uncertain to say the least and United may well be willing to sell if a bid were to be made.

The report claims Ronaldo has been a driving force behind the Saudi outfit's interest in Casemiro. It is also suggested, though, that the 31-year-old is not keen on making the switch to the Pro League.

The same is claimed for Wan-Bissaka, who Al-Nassr are reportedly considering as an alternative after seeing an offer rejected for Tottenham's Emerson Royal. The HITC report claims talks are ongoing between United and the right-back about the possibility of signing a new deal to extend his stay with the club.

Both men could be involved for ten Hag this weekend as the Red Devils take on Newport County in south Wales in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
