“There is still a lot of water ahead, we will try to work to qualify for the next Champions League, which at the moment is our main objective.”

The 29-year-old later explained how, when with Brazil, there is a significant change in the way they play to United and how he is committed to giving 100% for both club and country.

“When you come here you have to change the key, it’s another way of playing, the style of play, everything else, change,” he added.

“You change the key, you have to be focused on the team, because it’s a short period, when you’re here you have to be 100%.

“I try to do my best, work and when I return to United, I’ll think about it again, change the key, but at the moment I’m focused on the national team.”

The Red Devils return to league action against Leicester City on 2 April, with the club looking to bounce back from their Champions League exit by Atletico Madrid.
