A cocktail bar is giving away free pints to football fans - as long as they turn up to watch Manchester United lose.

Nordic, a newly opened late night haunt in Fitzrovia, London, is getting behind Copenhagen for their Champions League tie against United next week. They will be giving away a free pint to the first 50 fans that head down to the bar in a rival shirt to the Red Devils.

Thor, General Manager for Nordic, said: “We’re definitely hoping for another bad United game, but it’s all in the spirit of some good banter. The next time Arsenal are up against Midtjylland, we’ll be praying for the Gunners to lose instead!”

Featuring Scandinavian drinks, food and themes throughout the bar, the team at Nordic will be focusing on supporting Nordic teams whenever they’re playing.

The crowds will also get more reasons to cheer for an away next Tuesday. Every time a goal goes the wrong way for the Manchester giants, the bar will be giving away 10 free shots from its ‘Wheel of Misfortune’ - which the Newman Street bar has become famous for. The spinning wheel gives revellers the chance to win a range of shots.

Given United's start to the season - it could well be an expensive night for the bar.
